I reckon it's Ong-Bak time after hearing something like that.

I tried but I only managed to pull a muscle in my arm. No one else was hurt.

My God, I feel like crawling inside my head and pushing my eyeballs out from the inside so I hever have to see such stupidity.

Hahaha...hever.
Daly have you finished firefly? What do you think?

Daly said...

Not finished yet. On the last disc. It's certainly improved. I'd consider myself a fan even if it didn't totally set me on fire. At times it reminds me of the I-War universe, the western style and music. I think Jayne in general is the higlight of the series. Legendary shit.

Every now and again I find myself saying to myself: "That's why I never kiss 'em on the mouth" - I actually laughed out loud when he said that.

Reviews for the film have been good so far, or so I've heard.

Well now I've seen it all. The much vaunted final episode "Special Features" turned out not to be as good as I was expecting.

What did you think of 'objects in space'?
Jayne sleeps beside a well full of guns! Kick ass.
The episode with the hore's is quality too.
Jayne “Well I aint going.”
Captain “They're hore's”
Jayne ”I’m in”

Hahaha.....well.
Not so smart now are you?

Daly said...

No, I'm still really smart. Quite a bit smarter than you.

Anyway, I thought Objects in Space was pretty crap to be honest. Just some more improbable (in context) clichéd bullshit. It was just the standard episode in which River causes trouble, then redeems herself etc etc.

Toward the last few episodes I was getting a little sick of the fact that they kept letting the enemies off the hook. I mean, it started well in the first few episodes where there was a guy holding someone (the doctor?) hostage and Mal just strolls onto the ship and shoots him without a thought. And then they boot Niska's main bodyguard into the ships engine. That was noble, but then they just started letting people go. Niska, Jubal Early and Saffron/Yolanda/Whatever all left to die, which in TV world means left to survive and develop a major grudge.

Also the ships pilot, Wash, suffered badly from Buffy-speak, scriptwise. That tended to be jarring.

I take it the series was canned? or is another in the works? or are they waiting 'til after the film(s)? Or are they just wrapping it all up with a film for the fans?

I can't fricking wait for the film anyway. It's going to be the third best film of the year. After King Kong and Sin City, but just pipping 40 Year Old Virgin.

Hold on, when is Narnia out? That definitely top two material. I'm assuming Ong-Bak doesn't count.

Ong-bak doesn't count, although a kick ass film, the story really sucked.
The series was canned as fox firstly decided not to run the pilot and then when people watching it couldn’t figure out whom these carrectors were and what they were doing, fox decided to cancel it. Wedon with a lot of fan support tried to get fox to keep making it without success so I think it’s paramount who said they would pick it up as a film based on the DVD sales.

Ah, I see. Well I do think that's a real shame my own self. I've heard that they're making a trilogy all going well. Any word on that?

According to rumers Whedon is trying to lock the stars into two more films. But at least one of the main carectors won’t sign up.
According to the Browncoats as the firefly fans call themselves if Serenity makes 60+Million then paramount will finance two sequels. But this is from the same people who say serenity will make 20million in the first weekend so we will have to wait and see.
Whedon is also doing a film called goner and the wonder woman movie as well as planning a pilot or TV movie for spike. So it could be a while before any sequels appear.

Well as long as Jayne and the girls turn up the show can roll. And maybe the priest aswell. Zoe, Wash, the Doctor and maybe Mal can fuck right off. River too.

I was thinking today during the last episode when River "became part of the ship" that it reminded me of notable anime series Outlaw Star... and then the similarities began to pile up - I know ye Retarded Vegans didn't really rate Outlaw Star but it was definitely a major influence. Maybe Cowboy Beebop too, but definitely the Star.

I'd hope Serenity does well. When I saw the trailer (long before I'd ever heard of the series) I was immediately interested. I'd have gone to see it anyway.

Still having a luke around about this I see that Serenity made a cameo appearance in the premier of BattleStar Galactica. Noble shit.

They have to keep Mal around or Jayne would have destroyed the ship long ago. The actor playing Mal, Nathan something was the voice of Gao the lesser in Jade Empire.
River reminds me of Ed from Bebop.

There's a sort of weird girl that controls the ship in Outlaw Star too. Like in Objects in Space. Jayne wouldn't have destroyed the ship - he'd have made them the fiercest and richest pirates in the galaxy.
